Founding Partner: Career Coach or Career Development Practitioner (CDP)
Remote, Canada · Contract · Partner role, not salaried
This is a founding partner role, not a salaried job. You keep your own practice and your own fees. We give you free coaching software for your clients who are facing AI change, and in return we ask for honest feedback while we build it with you.
About Fractional Manager
Fractional Manager is career coaching software for clients whose jobs are being changed by AI. Clients map their skills and work on a scorecard in 30-day cycles. You see their progress in one coaching workspace, and only with the client's consent. It is live now for our first cohort of coaches.
Why now
- Employment for 22 to 25-year-olds in AI-exposed jobs is 19% below trend (Stanford Digital Economy Lab, August 2026).
- 84% of Canadian career development practitioners already use AI with clients, and 82% have had no training in it (Canadian Career Development Foundation, dmh associates and CareerChatUK, June 2026).
- 77% of leaders say they need specialised, fractional talent (Upwork Research Institute, 2026).
Your clients need a structure that measures the change, not just a new resume.
What your clients use
- Skills Constellation™, about 7 minutes. It maps what the client can do, not just the jobs they held: professional and transferable skills from their resume, a seven-question AI skill audit across five levels of AI fluency, and their personal traits.
- Success Metrics, every 30 days. The client rates eleven metrics from one to five, picks up to three to work on, and re-rates every thirty days. The number has to move.
- A published profile, an AI-fluency level that rises with real AI work, field networking channels, and a curated reading feed.
What you get: a coaching workspace
- Client roster: each client's cycle, AI level and last rating, and who needs a conversation, with the reason. Clients are never ranked against each other.
- Client scorecard: ratings, change since day one, AI level and audit summary.
- Session log and notes: log what was discussed, what was agreed and what comes next, and share the agreed actions with one tick.
- Suggest next focus: propose up to three metrics. The client accepts them or chooses their own.
- Client messages: one private thread per client, beside their scorecard.
- Programme tools: filters, private tags, notes search, follow-ups, end or extend, and a download of your notes.
- A coach Handbook, and a direct line to the founder.
How you can run it: a 30-60-90 programme inside your fee
- Day 30: the client builds their skills map and AI level and gives their first rating. You read the scorecard together and set three focus metrics.
- Day 60: second cycle, and their profile is published. You review what moved and set the next three.
- Day 90: third cycle, and first outreach if they are going independent. You hold a closing session and end or extend.
- Optional day 120: a lighter fourth cycle, priced by you.
Run it one client at a time or as a cohort that rates on the same rhythm. It sits as a line inside your programme fee, not as a second invoice for the client.
The client decides what you see
Nothing is shared until the client presses Allow, and they can withdraw in one click. You see their ratings, focus metrics, cycle dates, AI level, career audit and last active date. You never see their other messages, their workspace or their resume file. Your notes, sessions and tags are private to you. Coach accounts use two-step sign-in.
Who this is for
- Career coaches in private practice or small coaching firms
- Outplacement and career-transition firms
- Practitioners in publicly funded employment services and non-profits (free coach seat, standard client trial, no invoice)
- Post-secondary career centres
It works best for clients in marketing, sales, customer service, data and analysis, and finance, the fields where we publish AI-exposure evidence.
What it is not
It doesn't write resumes or apply for jobs, and it isn't a job board. It reads a resume into a skills map that the client corrects.
